New Quarry Services Director joins the Kelston Sparkes Team

Kelston Sparkes Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Ed Watts as Quarry Services Director. Having joined the company in the summer, Ed got straight to work on site thanks to a number of new projects coinciding with his appointment. He will ultimately assume responsibility from incumbent, Phil Oddy, who is currently providing mentoring and coaching to Ed until his retirement.

Prior to joining the company, Ed was at Whateley Quarry working for Heidelberg Materials and has previously worked in operational and logisitics roles at Tarmac. He applied for the role thanks to the reputation of the company, which he says has ‘a highly progressive outlook as both a quarrying and earthworks contractor working on strategically significant projects in the South West and beyond’.

Ed’s remit is to continue to ensure the safe, sustainable and efficient operation of the quarrying contracts he oversees and to deliver the best level of customer service in the business. He’s excited to be part of the leadership team and to ensure that his teams have the best environment to flourish and grow.  Outside of work, Ed keeps fit with CrossFit and playing tennis and enjoys spending time with family.

Welcome to the team
