Kelston Sparkes is pleased to announce the appointment of David Barber as Head of SHEQ (safety, health, environment and quality). After joining the business at the back end of 2023, David has immersed himself in maintaining compliance in all relevant areas of the business during a period of huge growth. SHEQ is becoming ever more critical for companies operating in the construction sector and David brings extensive knowledge gained from his previous senior roles in health & safety in construction. He has also worked for some of the largest Tier 1 contractors in the UK gaining valuable industry experience which has enabled him to slot straight into the busy role.
David, an avid DIY’er and golf enthusiast, is relishing the challenge of working within a smaller, family-owned business that is winning new and different contracts;
“Kelston Sparkes has grown significantly over the last few years and will be continuing their growth into the foreseeable future. Their growth has seen them venture more and more into civil engineering and groundworks alongside their specialism as an earthworks and quarrying contractor. My aim is to support this growth whilst maintaining compliance with industry legislation and ensuring that everyone’s health, safety, and wellbeing isn’t negatively affected by our operations. All levels of the business take an engaging and collaborative approach to the management of health and safety. This is a clear commitment by Kelston Sparkes ensuring the positive health and safety culture is maintained, and all our work operations remain safe.
